Creating a brand that suits all genre’s of music and is as welcoming and forward-facing as the founder
Day Job is a plugging & artist management company founded by Tom Poole. The brief was to create an identity that was both welcoming and forward-facing, reflecting the company’s focus on breaking artists and exciting new talent. It also needed to be versatile enough to represent all genres of music.
The response is a brand based around simple geometry, including a logo constructed from a series of circles. The warm primary colour palette ensures all their assets feel clean and contemporary whilst still retaining enough character and approachability to engage a wide audience.
The main touchpoint for the brand is the website, where the geometric shapes really come into their own, making the site feel playful and colourful, supported by details like the arched typography. Creating a robust and usable social template was also an important part of the brief, ensuring the brand identity would work consistently across platforms.
