The House of Daniel Thwaites

In collaboration with Brand Vista, I re-branded Thwaites. A 200 year old Brewery that has transitioned into the UK’s largest chain of independent hotels, called the House of Daniel Thwaites. The brief required each hotel to have its own identity, whilst still being part of The House of Daniel Thwaites.

The Logo

The “WA” is a device that is taken from the old logo. The House of Daniel Thwaites is learning from its past to inform its future, therefore the design needed do the same.

The House of Daniel Thwaites logo is a close representation of the “D” Daniel Thwaites wrote to sign the deeds to his first brewery.

Individual Hotel Logos

Each identity in the collective is designed to be clean and simple. The property brand being the most significant, with a subtle endorsement from The House of Daniel Thwaites. They are all similar but have small nuances, such as a serif, to help personalise them to each hotel.

The “D” from the central logo sits behind, to create a visual link back to The House of Daniel Thwaites.

Individual Hotel Graphic Device

Each Hotel has a tile to express their uniqueness within the collective. They are inspired by the hotels’ architecture and have been created to be used as an interchange graphic system across the collective.
